Grapes

This distinguished Riserva features predominantly Sangiovese enhanced by a touch of Cabernet for additional structure and complexity. The grapes are hand-selected from our finest vineyard parcels, where the distinctive altitude and terroir create the perfect balance of vibrancy, depth, and aging capability.

Maceration Time

The grapes undergo an extended 18-20 day maceration in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, optimizing extraction of color, tannins, and aromatic compounds. This meticulous process creates a wine with remarkable structure and velvety texture, achieving the quintessential balance between intensity and refinement with perfectly integrated tannins.

Winemaking and Refinement

After fermentation, the wine matures for 18 months in French oak barriques, then rests for another 18 months in bottle. This extended aging regimen is crucial for developing the wine's harmonious complexity, profound depth, and distinctive elegance.

Organoleptic Characteristics

Deep ruby red with garnet highlights, this Riserva presents an intriguing nose of brandied cherry, dried rose petals, and sweet baking spices, complemented by subtle notes of coffee and candied orange peel. The palate experience is luxuriously smooth and enveloping, featuring silky tannins and refreshing acidity that carries through to a long, complex finish.

Alcohol Content and Structure

At 14.5% alcohol, this Riserva offers substantial body with sophisticated refinement. Bright acidity perfectly balances the wine's richness, while the Cabernet influence contributes exceptional persistence and dimension, ensuring excellent cellar potential while maintaining the wine's inherent elegance.

Service and Temperature

Best enjoyed at 64°F after approximately one hour of breathing time. Younger vintages benefit from decanting to enhance aromatic expression and integrate tannins. Serve in a large-bowled wine glass to maximize bouquet development and fully appreciate the wine's expressive character.

Food Pairings

Creates memorable partnerships with bistecca alla fiorentina, slow-braised meats, and game dishes. Equally impressive alongside pappardelle with hare ragù and aged Tuscan pecorino. The sophisticated spice and balsamic qualities elevate structured cuisine, accentuating every nuanced flavor for an unforgettable dining experience.
